Ranged Basic Abilities

Adrenaline-generating ranged abilities for your rotation

Overview

Ranged has fewer basics than Melee, but more than Necromancy, for a nice middle ground. Ranged and Magic have quite a few similar basics that perform the same, so this can help with familiarity. There are also some abilities that perform similar to Melee, but significantly less.

All of these Ranged Basic Abilities will generate a base of 8% adrenaline.

Simple Basics

Dazing Shot

Dazing Shot is a low cooldown, medium damage ability with an average of 105% damage with a 5.4s cooldown. When cast this will reduce your target's Hit Chance by 10% for 4.2s. This ability can only be cast with a 2h weapon.

Conditional Damage

Piercing Shot

Piercing Shot is a low cooldown, low damage ability with an average of 50% damage per hit, dealing 2 hits for a total average of 100% and a 3s cooldown. Damage is increased by 30% to 130% if used on a stunned or bound target.

Channelled Abilities

Snipe

This is the only channelled Ranged basic, dealing 185% average damage after charging up for 2.4s, with a cooldown of 10.2s. This charge time is 1 tick longer than the normal global cooldown of 1.8s.

Bleeds

Fragmentation Shot

Fragmentation Shot is a damage over time basic, dealing 28% average damage per hit, for 5 hits over 5.4s, for a total of 140%. If the target moves, you will deal 2x damage for a total of 280%. The cooldown is 15s.

Area of Effect

Corruption Shot

This ability is obtained via a codex unlock.

Despite being in the AoE section, Corruption Shot is importantly also a bleed, but it is mainly used for AoE situations.

This will deal a hit to your target of 70%. Each subsequent hit will be reduced by 20% of the initial hit for a total of 5 hits: 70%, 56%, 42%, 28%, 14%, with an overall value of 210% and a cooldown of 15s.

Additionally, this will spread to all targets within 2 tiles of the primary target, and deal all remaining hits to all targets. This can spread continuously to other targets, until all 5 hits have occurred.

Ricochet

Ricochet deals 70% average damage to your target, and up to 2 additional targets within 5 tiles of your main target. Ricochet has a cooldown of 10.2s.

Can be upgraded to Greater Ricochet via an ability codex.

Greater Ricochet works similarly to Ricochet but provides an additional effect. If you do not have any additional targets around you, Ricochet will instead deal the 2 additional hits onto your primary target, dealing 35% average damage each.

Stuns

Binding Shot

Binding Shot deals 70% average damage, stunning the target for 1.2s and binding the target for 9.6s, with a 15s cooldown.

Ability Synergy

Needle Strike

Needle Strike deals 105% average damage and has a 5.4s cooldown. When cast, this will increase the damage of your next ability by 7%. Needle Strike can only be cast with dual wield weapons.
